What it does for a seasonal event
Each of these runs in the product today unless it is marked otherwise. You can try a Christmas booking on Demo Farm, a made-up venue.
Each child's details, after the booking
Families book with a name and an email address. Each child's name, age and interests are added afterwards from a private link, so nothing extra stands between the visitor and the booking.
Peak and off-peak dates
Prices can differ by date. The last Saturday before Christmas and a weekday in November are priced separately, and the calendar shows the price for each day.
Rules that match how you sell
Set the largest party, require a child ticket on a family experience and cap one experience within a shared start time. The same rules run in the booking flow and in the database.
Steady when everyone books at once
A place is held for ten minutes while someone pays. One visitor can hold three places at once and twelve an hour, so nobody can tie up your start times without booking.
From the advert to the right date
A link in an email or an advert opens the booking flow on the experience, date and start time you choose. The visitor has only their tickets left to pick.
Codes for offers and partners
A percentage or an amount off the tickets and extras, limited by date, by experience or by the number of times a code can be used. The new price shows before the customer pays.
Through the season
What happens between putting dates on sale and the last visitor leaving.
A date sells out
Release more places for it in seconds from one grid of every date and start time. Your booking page updates as you save.
Staff see who is coming
At the gate, staff see the party, what they bought and each child's details before the family reaches the front of the queue. The admin shows which families have still to send theirs.
Someone arrives without a ticket
Staff sell at the gate from the same availability as your website, taking cash or using your own card machine, and can check the party in with the same press.
The signal drops in the car park
If the signal drops while the door list is open, a check-in waits on the phone and sends when the signal returns. The list can also be printed.
What it does not do yet
Seasonal events often ask about these. None of them is in the product today, and each carries its status from our public roadmap.

What it costs
1.5% of what you take, plus VAT. Nothing else.
No monthly fee, no set-up fee and no long contract. Card payments go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe charges you its own card fee directly. A sale at the gate paid in cash or on your own card machine carries no fee to us.
Questions we are asked
If yours is not here, ask us.
- Can we collect each child's details for Santa without slowing the booking down?
- Yes. The booking takes a name and an email address. The family adds each child's name, age and interests afterwards from a private link they can return to, and staff see the details at the gate.
- Can we charge more on peak dates?
- Yes. Dates are sorted into price bands, such as peak and off-peak, and you set the ticket prices for each band. The calendar shows the price for each day before anyone chooses tickets.
- Do we pay anything outside our season?
- No. TicketHero costs 1.5% of what you take through it, plus VAT. There is no monthly fee and no set-up fee, so the months you are closed cost nothing.
- What happens when a start time is being paid for by someone else?
- The place is held for ten minutes while they pay, so it cannot be sold twice. If they leave without paying, it goes back on sale by itself.
- Can customers move their own date?
- Not yet. It is planned: customers will move a date or ask for a refund from their booking link, within rules you set. Today your team can refund or cancel a booking from the admin.
- Can we add more places when a date sells out?
- Yes. A manager or owner releases more places for any date or start time from the admin, and the booking page updates as they save.
Where we are today
TicketHero is new and is taking on its first venues. Card payments run in our demo with a test card and are not switched on for any venue yet. You can try the whole product, and we can show you a private preview with your own experiences, before there is anything to pay.
